Probably a matter of my age, but the look of black wheels makes me think of a car that had its hubcaps stolen. Also, I didn't think lobsters were period-correct on a .2 but maybe I'm mistaken.

Do you have any pics of the process?
I may want to try this but just trying to figure out how you handled areas where it needs to be hard metal. (tire bead, inner hub etc.)

Sad thing (for the lobster) is that it may have won the battle, but for sure lost the war. : )

Did the same thing to my lobsters last spring - it's held up remarkably well for a "temporary" solution. Love the look...stolen hubcaps or not.

For vids on the process, I think you can find some on "Dip my car's" website.

I've done PlastiDip and now AutoDip on my lobsters and really like the look. The bottom pic is Gunmetal AutoDip. I will say it does not hold up well to track-related activities, but that was totally expected.

Yes correct .2 didnt come with lobstes...i bought them cheap on this site...had a pro plasti dip guy come do all 4 for $160.

Ps i run 15mm spacers in the rear..non up front

It is holding up so far...i do not touch the wheels n only use a local no touch car wash...the basic wash only....the guy sprays with a warm can so its on smooth n the light shines bettr whn uts smooth...

I understand u think black is kiddish. Try it sometime..my goodness..my base 997.2 now looks mean!!

The lobsters r quite easy to do...just put plast bags over the calipers ....over spray on the rotor disc omes off right away when u brake..easy to peel off thd overspray on tire....dont worry bout thr overspray on inner rim..brake dust covers that contrasr between the rims gray color and black over spray.
Thr center crest rubs off with wd40 on a qtip.no tape covering needed

Where a rated mask
