I liked the Audi RS4 a lot. Wish I still had that.

964 is the best car I've driven. Very flickable, attached, 'darty' just beauty.

Then my Miata. Just getting used to the 993. It's bigger, more planted and refined (and quieter!) than my other cars, but we're just gettin' started

lotus elise - connected and raw to the max

7gt3 - more substantial car, but just as 'alive'

nsx - japanese take on analog brilliance

for more practical yet fun cars I agree with above sentiments on e39 m5, e46 m3... good thread...

As a teenager in 1980, I read an article in the Australian car mag "Sportscar World Quarterly" ( was advertised as the "Porsche Edition) . Among stories about various P-cars, including 917, 908, 914 "Tapiro" ( a Guigiaro special) & a "Vette turbine car - "Whistler's Brother", was an article written by Mike McCarthy (sp?) about a 928S - registration/plate # "ITP000". Thus began my love of Porsche. Took me until my 30's to buy my 1st P, a 928GTS. I had, by then moved from New Zealand to Germany ( following a woman ). Owned it for 6 years. Have been back in NZ for a few years & now have a '95 993.
Cheers - David

I really miss my 993 C4S. But I am really loving the ride of my 964. And I always have a FJ40 hanging around. If I could only have one 911 it'd probably be some sort of 993 variant. Most likely a C4S.

I really liked my '90 325i and '95 525i...both black/black, stick-shift, no option, basic cars. REALLY liked the 525i.

Yes, very nice collection. Why do you like the NSX?

My Dad had two NSXs when I was a kid. I remember them being brilliant analog cars since they're lightweight and mid engined, making them fast and handle really well. I'll have an NSX soon enough.

I just bought an E39 M5. 4.9 liter super sedan. Awesome car. Nothing to dislike about these.

Is that a 3 wheel car on the right? I'm a car guy, and have no idea what that car is....

993 is a great car. For all those that haven't driven a torsion bar car - go drive one! They are a blast to drive. I sometimes prefer the old school torsion bar to the 993, but they are all great

Really hard to put into words. I bought my 993 because, at the time, it was all I could afford. Now I'm looking at 2011 or newer Aston Martins, 2013-2016 Porsche 911's, new Caymans and even Bently Continental GT's. I'm now in the position to afford a one of my "dream cars" but the issue I have is my wife stated only 1 toy. So, I would need to sell the 993 to buy something else. But, every time I take the 993 out for a drive, I can't even imagine selling it.

Serious Lotus envy. I hope to have an Elise/Exige someday.
