The front pads (Original Porsche, first set): Almost no tapping.

The front pads had about 3.5-4 mm left. Maybe 0.5 mm tapping in longitudinal direction.

The rears where at 8-9 mm. Taping 0.5-1 mm aprox.

I also installed cup studs in the front and Tarett 85 mm studs in the rear.
Removed the brake wear indicators. Tied them up.
Next step is to install these to make changing brake pads even easier:

Kobalt, you replace all four corners right?
Or leave oem and change only front?

Rears don't do much, so you may be OK but I've never mixed pads.

I changed all four corners - considered not changing the rears but ended up changing them anyway.

There where about 8 mm left on rears and 3.5-4 mm on the fronts.

"I've never mixed pads"
I've even mixed PCCBs with steels - that works OK too

I'm currently running PFC11 on front and RS29 on rear!
It was not on purpose, I just took what was in stock!
RS29 are not good on front but for the rear they last until the end, due to much lower temps!

Why are RS29 not good in the front?

They fade way to fast! Around 50% they are finished.
And I don't mean that they brake less, I mean they are totally "garbage".
I throw them away because it was simply not fun to drive with that much fade!

On rear, they are holding due to less heat. I think the T° difference between front/rear is something like 100°C .
I will put some paint temp and check this tomorrow!

Installed a Cheapo-Rear View Camera on the Audi Transporter. It is turned on by the makeup mirror in the passenger sun visor. Simplest possible installation
Really nice to see the cars behind instead of a 991 GT3 RS in the rear view mirror.

Great idea! Is it one of the Android powered ones or is it strictly a rear view mirror and back up camera setup? Is the camera wireless or wired?

Thx

It is as simple as possible: It is just a rear view mirror with a 5" LCD integrated that is clipped on to the original mirror.
Then i get the power from the makeup light.

I tried wireless transmission first but I got interference, not very bad but annoying.

*Note that this is not in the Porsche but in the Audi Transporter

This was the wireless system I tried but didn't use:

At Nürburg after a long dag on Autobahn.
37 degrees Celsius at most made the Audi sick.
We missed the tourist driving and of course "It was amazing" according to those who where there.

Overheating. Looking into it now. Looks like the AC fan is not working.

Love that setup
Fan probably will fix all but if the load is a bit much for the cooling, maybe a big after market radiator wouldn't hurt? Or look at waterless coolant?
