Reference Guide to PTS
#2806
is the color on that older 991 gt3. The color has
been on the approved list for a number of years!
More likely that is a MY2014 or very early MY2015
gt3, built before the PTS moratorium went into effect.
There were no PTS gt3s in MY2016. Back in that time,
'Acid Green' was not yet approved for PTS for a 991.
It now is.

No, the paint code is not shown on the window Monroney sticker:
Nor the built sheet on the PAG/PCNA computers available to your
dealer, which is often forwarded to customers:
All you learn is that it's Exterior Paint to Sample (duh!) and whether
it's a 'Metallic' or 'Non-Metallic' (Solid/Uni) color!
****
It is one of the less-than-brilliant-details (I am trying to be polite here)
of the way PAG manages information on PTS. In the old 356/early 911
days, the metal (or sometimes plastic) plate in the door jam would
identify the car's body color code clearly for all to see (in this case
'Signal Yellow' on my old original paint 1973 911T):
In later 911 periods, a decal would be found with the PTS body color
somewhere on the chassis.
In the 997 period, the PTS color code would be found on the inside
of the gas lid (e.g. 'Pastel Orange' gt3):
In the 991, PAG has been forced to provide other information in that
space!
So at the present time & models, PAG has gone back to supplying a
decal which is randomly put by the selling dealer in whatever location
he/she fancies. Sometime it is found in the warranty book with your
operating manuals. At other times, it might be attached to the under
side of your front hood! Here is the one for my 991 gt3, still attached
to the factory decal 'blank' sheet which lucky for me my dealer did not
attached anywhere & just handed it to me!
It's a less than perfect information system at the present. And it
might bring a lot of confusion years from now as these decals are
removed, lost, etc. And years from now there will be many owners
of used PTS vehicles with no clue as to the color or code # for their
paint!

For those interested, the Exchange has PTS UV, Fashion Grey and Voodoo Blue, all Macan GTS...
I also drove by a few weeks back when I was in town and swore I saw a green one (Viper?) on their lot right next to the UV one.
These all need RS owners in their lives...
Edit: Also "Impulse Red Metallic" Turbo. Never seen this color before...?

Dear Eduardo,
i wondered myself, as my dealer told me, this yellow is "fayence". BUT IT IS !!!
I doublechecked this for you, and it was a pleasure to do this, because i know you are der "MASTER of PTS"...
The GT3 is an birch green, i spoke to the ( first ) owner he is selling it right now ( about 189.000 Euro ) if anybody needs more details ( build, km..?? ) i can ask for. Capilars anr aftermarket painted in birch also.
Kind regards from Germany

Looked for Fayence to get some reference and only found google images related to a. Carrera gt which may have been repainted. Seems like a very rare color. Does it look a bit like Ferrari fly yellow?...

A dozen years ago, I was told by PAG/PCNA folks that Fayence is nearly a dead copy of Ferrari Fly yellow. The reason for the close connection is that Fly yellow was one of the most often requested Paint-To-Sample yellow hues in Porsche's early history.

Hi All,
Attached 17 long months after order are some pics of my Maritime Blue RS. I spec'd the car for ME and not resale so it has steels (I will track the car), folding buckets so I can put stuff behind the seats and lifting front axle as we have LOTS of ramps in Dubai. The RS will have my Ferrari F430 Scuderia as company in my garage while both await their next drive which will be every week.
I have been a long, long time Porsche fan and got my first, a silver 930 turbo when I was 8 (!). It was a Matchbox model and set the tone. My first real one was a 911SC when I was 25 which was followed by a 3.2 Carrera, 964 C4 Cab, 2 Boxster S, 996 Targa, Coupe, 4S, Turbo Cab, 944/s2, Cayman S and a Cayenne GTS...I think thats all of them...
Of course other cars have accompanied the Porsches at various times, some boring and some not so boring - a C63 and my current M5 daily driver spring to mind in the latter category.
I wasn't born into a rich family but a little hard work and blessings from my parents have put in the position I am now and when I had the chance to order a 991RS I jumped at it. I was late to the party and was lucky to get an allocation so I guess this was meant to be. The car was always going to be PTS - I was on the dealer's case from day one and I always wanted a shade that was on the 964RS. I plumped for Maritime in the end and I am completely delighted with the way the car has turned out, I couldn't be happier and feel totally blessed.
Anyhow apologies for the poor pictures, I will post some more with some of the more beautiful landmarks of Dubai in the background when I am back from vacation.
All the best and enjoy your cars!

Thanks man, appreciate the comments. There is actually another Maritime car in Dubai, it came the same time as mine. I don't know the owner though.
