I have a '99 with a replacement engine installed in '04. I would love to know what bearing mine has now.

The myth that all 99 cars are double row only applies if it is the original engine. If the engine serial as an"AT" in it is is a remanufactured one. Consider both factors..

If it was done in 2004, assume it has single and and not double.. Keep in mind that the failures were not well know back then so when rebuilding they probably thought single row was just dandy. I have the old single row on my desk now LOL. Only found out when it was pulled to upgrade it. It was perfectly fine by the way.

I have the repair receipt from the dealer who did it and it seems to indicate it was replaced with a remanufactured '01 engine in March '04. Question is, when was the engine reman'd, in '01, '02, '03, or '04? I only know when it was put in my car. It could have been reman'd in '01 and sat in inventory for 3 years. Or reman'd in '02 and sat for 2 years. The earlier the engine was reman'd the more I would assume it was given a single row since that was what they were using then.
Oh well. "996's are like a box of chocolates, ya never know what you're gonna get."

2/98 and 3/98. Ours were probably meant for the '98 Euro market but escaped to the land of opportunity!

Today was the first day I got the *** out a little bit...
I have never got an erection and s.h.i.t myself at the same time... except for the one time in Bulgaria
Whoever said this was a driver's car is right, night and day with the nanny electronics of the Evo X
