Didn't feel like going to Friday-last-day-of-school-lunch with the other guys, so I hung around the garage and puttered on a couple things. I've never checked the intensive or headlight washers, filled intensive, worked, flipped headlights on, and those washers worked, too.

Since that didn't take much effort...my mind started studying the sunroof. I'd pressed the switch before, but only got a moan from the motor. Gave the panel a little help today, while holding the switch and she opened up ever so slowly. Well, the lube that was in there...was rock solid...so, a little degreaser and solvent were in order.

After about twenty minutes of cleaning and relubing...she is opening back and forth with lightening speed. Had to adjust the level of the inner panel, which was dragging slightly, three screws along the back edge cured that. Drove home from work with the roof open, what a difference in air-flow.

Anyhow, like they say..."didn't happen unless there are pictures".

This picture is for Nate, aka the Gambler or T6ixers, the "money shot".

Then old red wanted in on the act...for the "double money shot".

Old blacky has been giving me nothing but joy. Been pretty much my daily driver for the last month and she just starts and goes where I point her.

Time for a little evening shade drive to the thumb. See ya later alligator!

Calm down young whippersnapper...or you may hurt yourself...lol.

On a side note, having the sunroof working was more of a benefit than I ever imagined. Wife lit up a cigarette last evening, asked her "what she thought she was doing", since I'd recently implemented a no smoking rule after she burned a spot in my carpet...anyhow...snatched the cigarette out of her fingers, when she wasn't looking, and tossed it out the sunroof. Yes, the next few miles were quite quiet...but rules are rules.

Welcome. If the timing belt truly has never been changed in the last 25 years, I recommend that you do not even start the motor again until you have replaced it.

Previous ride height and Cup 1 rims...150mm front...155mm rear. Looks awesome like this...nice and low...but drives and handles crappy.

Today ride height while setting back on its seven slot S4 rims...165mm front...172mm rear. Looks not-so-awesome like this...to high IMO...but drives so much better ride wise and handles like a dream. Gone is the "bump stop" steering while braking and no more feeling ever crack in the pavement.

I know the tire change alone helped mildly with the ride, since they've been on for a few days. However, after changing the ride height tonight...the ride is ten times nicer.

Anyhow, these are my findings. Now, after a toe-in measurement, it will go back up in the air for the new steering rack boot, oil change/filter (damaged on the hoist mishap) and toe-in adjustment.

Then...another shakedown run...and measurement.

Looks way better now IMO. Just like nature intended.

And triple check that lift before going under, I'm not done getting advice from you yet!
