Wow, this could get ugly. Let's hope the seller's family issue's are delt with in the best manner possible and the buyer will end up with a dream car of his liking. Best to you both.

I know Stephan
I have known Stephan, casually, for years and he is a stand up guy. I also know this WAS his wife's car because i tracked a 2015 Z06 with them both (Stephan has/had a Lava Orange RS) several months back. I highly doubt Stephan really cares if he makes a few grand more off someone else. Money is not the issue. I'm sorry to hear the buyer missed out on the car, but i'm certain everyone here knows when the wife speaks, if you want to remain happy, you better listen.
Oh yeah, i upgraded to a fully loaded 2015 Guards Red GT3 in December. What a car!
peace to all!

Post was in response to the guys talking about contract law. I.e. What damages are there to sue for? I don't see any, but I'm not a lawyer. No need to throw out there about being a 918 VIP either. That's irrelevant to the conversation. You support your position, the OP does his. He was disappointed, I can see that. You have your reasons so be it. It's an Internet forum, take a breath and chalk it up to people not having the full story from both sides of the equation.

I know this is non of my business but I'm struggling to understand why the car was listed to sell in the first place? Also it Sounds like you and your wife have a stable of cars to choose from and the Mexico blue was just one of them. And from the mileage list, it didn't even get driven(Original owner put most of this on). So for family reasons you can't sell one of your cars from that impressive stable to I guy looking for his one dream car. Ok. Got it.
Sorry if this is way off but it's just how a outsider could/can see it from this post.
I'll let myself out.

Sorry, but one has to get their family situation straight before they start marketing a car. I would be very upset (was in a similar situation but no deposit, just a verbal) and I know how I felt when the guy backed out. Taking a deposit takes it to a completely different level. They have a contract at that point. It's not a matter of harm or foul, it's a contract backed by an accepted deposit.
Has anyone considered the amount of time the potential buyer might have spent in getting the funds and the loan together? Does someone's time and effort mean anything?
If this Stephen guy is really stand up, how does he plan to make things right? Not cool.

FWIW, I have purchased or sold cars and/or products to both Ryan at DDW and Stefan in the past I had zero issues whatsoever....

First, sorry the deal fell through. But it happens. I had a deal fall through on a car, only to thank the dear lord I didn't buy it later.
It all works out in the end. Enjoy searching for the best car you will probably ever own. The next one will be awesome!
