Finally Got Sports Seats
A couple of months ago I posted a "wanted" ad in Panamera looking for a set of black sports seats for my '86 944T. I received a few offers, one asking for $2500 and the other for $3200 and a few examples that would need a full reupholster job on top of the asking price. Knowing that these were all way above my price range I pretty much gave up on the idea of finding pristine sports seats to replace my aging original seats.
Out of nowhere I received an email last week from a fellow 951 guy that had like-new sports seats (electric and heated) for $600. I immediately made the 7 hour drive and couldn't be happier!
I installed them yesterday along with a new only944 leather shift boot, new hatch pin seats, and replacement dash buttons that were faded. The car is just about back to original condition!

would love a set for my 951 also.
i picked up a set of 996 sports over a year ago now, 20 minutes away, for $750. i never see them for less than $2-2.5k now.

Thanks all! I'm still shocked at the deal I was able to get. After a couple of drives, the additional support provided by the extra large bolsters makes the seating position extremely comfortable - although a little awkward getting in and out.
The new seats came out of a 1990 S2 - with heat and electric controls they are substantially heavier than my original '86 non-sport seats. I'll have to remove that 30 year old spare tire to make up for the difference
