Needs a bigger caliber. 16-pot calibers are so 2016.

I assume the missing bolt @ 11:00 on the wheel is for weight reduction.

It's a 958 (13). Don't know about the 957, but the signal bars on the 958 still worked, but I had to build a harness adapter to allow them to act like the DRLs (TT and GTS have them in the headlights rather than the single bars like the "cheap" models).

Could be where the valve "stem" goes. I had some 20s for my XK8 that were like that where there was a fake bolt you removed and inserted an adapter when you wanted to put air in the tires. I don't see a stem anywhere anyway, so that's my guess.

So you know, AMG comes with 8 piston loaf breads on the front from the factory ... I haven't held them in the hand, but mechanic said that those massive calibers are extremely light. They don't know how/why.

I only count 6 in the pic. They are light as $hit because they are monoblock construction just like Porsche. Try holding up a 2 piece GM brembo(Camaro, Cadillac, etc) vs 1 piece monoblock Porsche/Mercedes/etc. and you can tell the difference.

There are ten on the other front wheel. It's an average of 8 between the two front wheels.

This is due to a number of beers being consumed during lunch.

Braking performance matches the E55's appetite for speed as stopping duties are tackled by massive 8-piston calipers/14.2-in. vented rotors up front and 4-piston calipers/13.0-in. rotors in back. This racing-derived hardware never fails to effortlessly slow the big sedan no matter what the speed or circumstance. Assisting these mechanical components is Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC), which lends the E55 an enhanced feeling of security under hard deceleration and panic stops.

I like my black calipers. Although if they were red, I would live with it.

I have 6 piston front and 4 piston rears on my Z06. They do look good n haul the car down from speed well.

I don't think he was arguing that your car has 8-piston calipers - but the caliper in your pic would need 5 pots on the back to add up to 8...

The brakes on my '96 Corvette are a little scary. I need to quit being lazy and upgrade.
