That is another gut-wrenching, horrible story where adults don't have the brains or respect for a helpless little life to at least put the baby in a properly reversed child seat and harnessed to a car with rear seats. Apparently, this Porsche had the rear seats removed, which is more proof of their negligence by driving without having the infant properly secure. God help us.

Actually they are reinforced with high strength boron steel. Don't know if they are solid boron steel, but super frickin strong!

I read somewhere you could turn the car over and drop it from 5 feet and the windshield frame would not collapse. Same structure in the Boxster

Jeez. What the hell is it with stupid parents driving Porsches in CA???

I have a feeling they won't be so happy with Porsche's structural engineering in this case. That's certainly a situation I would prefer not to survive...

I want to feel superior and judgmental towards them, but no matter how stupid they were I can't help but feel bad for them to have lost their kid in such a manner. I'm sure they will be beating themselves up for a very long time Not something I would wish on anyone.

I drive that road anytime I am headed to Palm Desert/Springs or headed to Chuckwalla

It is a really fun twisty road, parts like the Amalfi coast. From the article is sounds like they went over the edge at the vista point. I wonder if he just drove over the edge?

Wow. I wish the best for the driver and passenger. That cage definitely saved the car from being crushed.

Alright guys, no more arguments on replica GT3 ebay seats. They can survive an accident like this.

As for the paint, the guy def did a COMPLETE job on it as it seems. Looks like the Lamborghini Reventon color to me.

In other news....Drove by this one a couple of weeks ago on the way to lunch. Doctor in a yellow Carrera took the off ramp instead of the on ramp then tried to make a U-Turn on the highway. The entrance and exit are right next to each other so it's not as stupid as you would think. OK, the U turn was but you hate to see a life and a porsche end over such a silly mistake.

Not that long ago, a guy in a Boxster decided to blast past the person in front of him, lost control, and jumped the guard rail on the right side of the road about a mile from my office. Unfortunately, this took place on the transition ramp from one freeway to another; the Boxster landed top-down onto the road below. The drop from that overpass to the roadway is about 50 feet, so at least it was painless.

Needless to say, I make a point of not blasting around people on that ramp.

Well, if anybody's looking at buying a used M96 from LA Dismantlers anytime soon, you might wanna check the serial number against the accident report from this one.
