Default Just for fun, more 928 furniture

I had a customer commision a new breakfast nook table.

This table sits upright, and we exposed the crankshaft coming out of it and mounted the glass to the flywheel.

That way the glass table top can be turned, and the table can be assembled so that the glass top is 34" or 37" high.

To do this, we had to cut a 928 crank in half (worry not, it was an out-of-spec crank).

I took the rest of the crank and made a desk lamp out of it.

Carl -- Those are both funky and fun. They would look great in someone's home -- just not my wife's!

Cool!

Another idea - take two 928 blocks and bolt them together via some of the "girdle" bosses, and lay the glass on the block face.

Everybody wants a 400lb table

Are those anechoic (sp) sound panels in the wall? You must have a bitchin sound system or some great parties.

This detail alone is just GORGEOUS.
Loving this type of furniture probably is similar to some type of Rorschach inkblot test.
It probably reveals some horrible mental illness that I would rather have this in my house than "regular" furniture. LOL. Just when my poor wife started to think I was calming down.

Yes. Its an old schoolhouse with wood floors and 13' ceilings so it echo's in here like mad. There are two offices in this room and we couldn't have a phone conversation if the other person is on the phone too until we installed them. But you are right, when we crank on the stereo, i rocks!
