Default 90 S4 resurrection - from parts bins to completion

This is before:

Pistons and cams are in one of those boxes...

This is after having started it for the first time.

Need to address a small oil leak from where the oil lines go into the block, otherwise it idles perfect and sounds even better.

It goes without mentioning it, but this could not have been possible without all the help of fellow Rennlisters as all my related posts would attest to.

A big thanks.

There is something special hearing it fire up after worrying about every nut and bolt you turned. Still has a ways to go before it is road worthy. Oil leak at the lower oil fitting to the oil cooler. Wished I'd seen Greg's JB Weld suggestion or more clearly understood James Bailey's JB Weld reference.

Also, it was strange to see no coolant make it from the reservoir to the engine. Turns out some insects took up residence in the bottom of the reservoir. Had to pull that - not fun.

Indeed always a good feeling to see an engine project come to life. Well done!

Kind of embarrassing... Had a minor oil leak from above the oil pressure sender. Thought it was related to the lower oil line adapter with cracked and missing threads. I repaired that with JB-Weld but the leak persisted. Turns out i failed to properly torque the two 17mm nuts on either side of that area near the leak.

All is well now.

At least it was an easy fix!
