Default 3D Printed door pocket reinforcements.

Hey there 964er's.

I have been working on a personal project on my 993(and possibly others) for a while now which is a design for 3D printed door pocket reinforcements. They are modeled digitally and then printed in black ABS. The finish you see in the pictures isn't the final finish, it's just that I'm using a local printer to perfect the design and then I'll use a printer I've used in the past for a bumperette delete insert project....

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-who-s-in.html

...for the actual prints.

Here's the problem that I hope you can help me out with. It turns out that there are 2 different designs of door pocket on the 993, the standard car, which I have and the Hifi version. I designed the inserts for the standard. Can somebody on the 964 forum take a picture of the door pocket plastic (as much of it that's still there and post it on this thread? I just need the inside face of the door pocket to confirm my suspicions.

Here's the two different versions I know of...........

HiFi

Standard.

This is my latest 3D print......

I'd take the tape off except the plastic would fall to pieces

I was at my shop yesterday and they share space with a collectible car dealership so I was able to look in some earlier(to my) car and the ones that hadn't been repaired seemed to be the same as mine. Any help identifying who has what would be appreciated. I'm going to hit up the earlier 911 forums to see what they have. Externally the outside of the pocket looks the same all the way back to 1973. You'd have thought somebody would have complained

Thks

Gavin.

Appreciate it.

The ultimate plan is that I will do a small batch for people who want them. Paid upfront. If I made as many as people said they wanted, I'd be sitting on parts. One time thing unless demand justifies another batch in the future.

-edit- Your pocket is weird, it's not quite the hifi pocket yet it seems to share its dimensions better than my non-hifi pocket which has a short raised area and a large flat area. The Hifi dimensions are much more of a 65/35. As to the side piece on what would be the inside of the car, I haven't seen that before on anybody's.

What annoys me more is that they did change the design for unknown reasons but continued to make it inherently crap.

This is where it gets tricky.....

There are 3 known versions of the door pockets and this only fits one. If your door pockets don't look exactly like mine, and they may not, then these WILL NOT fit BUT there are other options for you.

993 Hifi. BesideTheBox
Some 964 & 993 Non-Hifi. Mine
Some 964 & Earlier 911's. Neffets.

I would be in for 2 964 ones, mine are ten times worse than in the above pictures.
