Ken I've lost track, are you working on your original engine or the one you got from Mark?

I know this sounds a little foolish, but because the "old" motor has a copper intake and the new motor will have a black intake, I call the old motor "Ginger" and the new motor "Raven".

Ken,
I was reading through your post and found that you revitalized your interior. I was curious as to how the Surflex worked out for you? Is it holding up?

Mixed results. The more minor repairs still look great. However the biggest repair, which I knew was a gamble, eventually shrunk and cracked horribly after a few months of heat and sun cycles. Currently keeping an eye out for a leather quarter in good shapethat I can get At a reasonable cost. Dye if necessary. If no luck, I'll likely go with one of the new fiberglass units and fresh leather.

Last time I did this job, motor was in car and I was on my back. Much much easier this way. However, with motor in car, no risk of dropping things into crank case. This time, despite extreme caution, several small pieces took the dive, requiring much time and cursing to recover.

A little, but in general seemed very clean, and oil was still mostly golden, so went "out of service" fairly soon after its last change.
