My personal opinion, the 991 gt3 is a joke. I have ZERO interest in that car. Does not appeal to me. Nor MOST of the owners. It's no secret where 997gt3 owners went. Go look at the GT4 section.
Every generation of PORSCHE is better than the last generation...period ,regardless of your feelings or the model you prefer.

I'm getting good laugh from this thread. 991 v 997 GT3 is like Ford V Chevy or Democrats v Republicans. Funny stuff.

If you can swing it I would sell the turbo and get a 997rs.

991gt3 is amazing as a DD and a beast at the track. For weekend fun drives and occasional track you have the 997rs. Best out of two worlds.
Turbo will be forgotten in no time.

Your sig shows a 2008 GT3. Wouldn't that be a 997.1 not 997.2?

If that is the criteria, then Nismo GTR might be a better car and you have spare change as well. I think most who talk about driving a car with a manual transmission and fewer/no nannies are interested in driver involvement and skill. I'm not saying there is a right or wrong, but they are certainly different.

^ also bear in mind all gt3 don't have rear seats. Some have it installed but I question the legality of it when the s$it hits the fan. Mike

Understand! My kids are 5 and 9 and both love to ride in the Porsches. No better family car than the 993tt. Happy wife and kids means happy me.

Always tears when one child can go in caged 2 seat cars. Spoils the fun.

I originally bought a 2010 997.2 RS and sold it after 18 months as I wanted other cars. Then I was lucky enough to purchase another one again 12 months ago.

Now that I own a 997.2 RS and 991 RS I have had the opportunity to compare them very closely.

IMO the 997.2 RS is all about pure steering feel, unbelievable sound especially with a Sharkwerks bypass and of course 3 pedals and a stick.

The 991 RS has a vague centre in the steering and the sound is synthesized Vs guttural, mechanical and raw.

If I had 1 car to drive on a mountain pass it would be the 997.2 RS.

If I need to go to the city, then there is no way I would drive the 997.2 RS.

I am also running a poll on this topic in the 991 GT3RS section.

997.2 RS Vs 991 RS - Which do you prefer?
