I have both. I bought my 997.2 RS new in 2011 and bought my GT3 new in 2015. I love my 991 GT3. Just amazing! However, the best move I ever made was buying my RS. If one of them ever had to go... it would not be the 997.2 GT3 RS.

I have both...and love both for different reasons. But as I've said in other threads like this, I would absolutely keep the 997 RS if I had to make the choice.
If you love your Scud and 991 GT3 I think you will be smitten with a 997 RS....and then you will have a fantastic tri-fecta! They will all be special in their own way.

I have a 997.2RS and a 16 gt3.
I don't want to sell either, but put a gun to my head the 16 gets sold first.
Completely different cars - both really good.

After two years in a 07 gt3 I added a .2 rs.
I don't see any redundancy.
However, somehow- if I saw myself with a 991 gt3 and a .2 rs I would just feel like I have two expensive cars.
I have two 997 gt3 variants because I think it's the best spot in the bloodline.
Good luck.

To me the 997 GT3 RS is at the top of the food chain. I will own a 997 GT3 in the near future!
The 991 GT3 will have its day of being a collectable car. Look at the 993, 996, 997. After each one came out it was considered to not be as RAW and as bare bones as the previous but time has shown that there is a buyer and collector for all of them.
So when you look back in 10-15 years the 991 will be a collectable ir desirable because it was the FIRST GT3 with the PDK to wear the badge and all of the models after that got "softer" and so on. But make no mistake , it will be desirable just maybe to a different audience. Everyone has their "dream car" and i think plenty of the modern age "kids" will one day want that 991 they had a poster of.
