Ried - You are a common cynic in the GT4 threads. Why do you have such a hard-on for people who "flip" cars, as you say? The market is what the market is, bro.

You'll have to admit that bragging of flipping a car you just bought the same day is kind of asking for that type of response, though.

It's marketing. And if somebody is looking for this particular car, it is a favor. For everyone else, it's just another post. It is what it is, we are in the car business, and every car we buy is a 'flip', whether it has 29 miles or 29,000.

Thank you all for the free bumps! Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Um, what?
They are car dealers. That's what they do - buy a car (or get it in trade) to sell it for a profit. If they don't do that, they won't be in business long.

I guess a lot of people are forgetting that the purpose of a company is to make money. Everything else is secondary, no matter what they say. If a company does not make money, it goes out of business. As for car dealers, they have to buy a car, add a profit margin, and sell it. Call it what you want - reselling, flip etc., - but that is why they are in business.

Some guys are acting like the car dealers are stealing their kids' lunch money.

Then why isn't this tagged as "Dealer Inventory" in the forum?

Not only is he a business owner and duh needs to make money - unlike some dealers that post here he also contributes info to the forum helping other members with info on # of their combo made in a year for example helping their sale threads and helping others looking like me via PM.

Dealers can sell what they want. We can buy what we want. The premium on the GT4 is stupid. More cars are now available and if someone wants one they can find it close to (if not at) MSRP.

But if you want what Switchcars is selling, then the convenience factor might be worth a 10K to 15K premium. I worked too hard for my money so I elect to spend it wisely.

i have to say, the dealers that say they are providing a "service" to the porsche (or any) market are full of sh*t. they are buying available cars - some through direct owner/public acquisition - slapping a premium on it and reselling 'as is'. when you have a hot market, like the porsche market, the dealers can grab available cars for sale publicly (not auction cars, private sale, etc.) before an enthusiast can get to them and toss it into their inventory. now, when the market was crazy hot, most were doing this, slapping a huge premium on it and hoping the market would come to them. it's just tough when a limited amount of a certain car are available and dealers/flippers grab them, raise the price and turn them in a day and proclaim they are providing a "service". thanks, but i'd rather buy from the owner myself if you don't mind!
