Default ICBC Insurance Cost, Vancouver

Hello,
I was wondering how much it would cost to insure 993 c2s/c4s in Vancouver, BC. I am 32 and have clean history but currenly only get 15% discount as I am relatively new to Canada. In addition, is ICBC only option in BC as far as insurance is concerned? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My 95 C2 costs roughly $3800/year BEFORE any discount(thankfully I get the max 43%!) for pleasure use only. Also note that I live in the Fraser Valley which is a bit cheaper than Vancouver proper.

The basic coverage you have to buy from ICBC. The optional coverage you can get from anyone.

I saved around $800 by going with a private insurer on the optional coverage for my 98 C2S

Thank you for the replies. The cost is not as bad as I thought it would be. I have been searching various web sites and it seems like there are quite a few 993s for sale in vancouver.... cannot wait till I get my own!!!

Looking for a 993? Hmmmm. PM me, I'm still considering GT3 ownership and am considering selling both my 95 993 AND my 02 996.

I currently pay $2016.00 yr, 43% disc, pleasure use only, 4-6 days per month business use? Maybe I'm under insured?
Cheers,

If you have insurance discount currently from you insurance company and am moving to Bc, bring that proof along and show it to ICBC when purchasing insurance here, they will take that into consideration in calculating your discount.

My 996 TT Cab is around $1,800 per year and it's licensed for "To and From Work". All with ICBC. I get the maximum discount.

He’s a very patient seller if, 11 years later, he still hasn’t found a buyer for that 993.

Although my post in this thread was well over a decade ago, I did sell the 95 in 2018 and the 97 just last summer.
