Default I'm workin' on it!

LCMT day one ended thusly:

This was certainly one of the problems:

Blew coolant all over the track and spun out! Sorry guys!
So, new bleeder valve, new AOS, new underdrive pulley, new plugs and coils, and new LN oil sump baffle. Hopefully I can keep it on track for both days this month!

That sucks!

Similar happened to me.
Blew coolant hose going into 10, 2nd session Monday, red run group
Luckily and thankfully no carnage.
Picked up 2 new hoses for both sides (apparently weak point of the GT3 coolant lines) and was running Tuesday after lunch
Thanks again to Alex/Danny of Lauzon for the trackside tech support.

So did you source the hoses locally ?
And Seb, yeah, it's on my wish list. My birthday is in 2 weeks, but my wife just doesn't seem to understand these choices.

The engine bay cooling hoses and expansion tank should be changed every few years. Those are very often over looked... might be a good idea to do the water pump and tstat as well. Remove the front bumper and clean the rads out...

If anyone wants I have a spare X51 oilpan I can part with it for cheap.

I was sitting right seat for the spin. James handled it well, including ending up facing pit in.
My suggestion that we go ahead and pit was apparently my best advice of the day.

Default MARITAL ALERT: AOS $$$ and WIVES

Dear 44 Bosxter dude,

"but my wife just doesn't seem to understand these choices"

I've been married for 43 years, and I have come to realize one important truth.

" I want to be open and honest.", the well meaning, ***** whipped husband might say.

Wives should NEVER....NOT EVER.....be aware of the amount$ of a husband's passionate purchases.
This applies to bikes, cars, skis, cameras, spinning reels, guns, whatever!

Your extravagance is yours to deal with! If you feel guilt, remorse or selfish dishonesty, perhaps other sports beckon!

She will NEVER UNDERSTAND OR ACCEPT the need for another set of Forgeline rims and NT 01 tires, never grasp the importance and cost of a Fabspeed XPipe or Pagid RS 29 pads.

(If you must, be sure to DISCOUNT THE AMOUNTS SPENT! Pretend she is a Custom's official.)

Better yet,

Do NOT share this info, as it will only work against you, and reside on 'the list' in perpetuity.

To date, I have been spared, though I have seen misery unfold in other guys' households.

DISCLAIMER: I offer this advice with a compassionate, feminist sensitivity. The info will only upset her, and why should we do this? There is no upside.
Because of our affection, we wish to spare her pain and suffering in all things.

This advice does NOT apply to infidelity or worse.
SERIOUSLY!

Spot on advice for the true petrolheads haha. I just want it to be known that if need be...I have made "custom" invoices for the fellow enthusiast for those exact scenarios. I would be willing to do so again in the situation arises

Hi James,

Glad it all worked out for you in may. I remember the coolant on the track and the red/yellow striped flag. I assume that was you? I had clouds of smoke upon starting after each session. It only happened at the track. I was told I need a new AOS. Not an easy job apparently. I see a pattern emerging here...

I see that we are both registered for June. I was assigned the number 41 last time and assumed I got to keep it. I ordered myself a set of vinyl numbers for the june event. When I look at the roster I see that I have been given your old number, 44, and you have been given 79. I also see that you have paid for your vinyl 44. I sent a note to Bob Rouleau asking him if we keep our numbers. No one in the next event has my number so I would think you could keep yours and I could use my new vinyl 41.

Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Hi Tom,
Very curious indeed! Bob had said that numbers were assigned and would be kept by members as long as they were active. The number 44 was assigned to someone else but that person was not active last year nor this. I used the number 44 last year for 2 sessions as well as this year in May. Bob told me that if the previous number owner didn't register this year, that the number would be mine permanently since that member would forfeit the number if he didn't register for 2 years. Very odd that you should find yoursef listed as 44!
Bob will probably reply to your request in the affirmative. I will run next week as 44 and I suggest you use your 41. No one is registered for this session as 41 so there should be no problem.
Cheers, James
