Default A new adventure begins

Hey guys,

It's almost time for a new yearly Winter project so i picked up a 1983 944 SP2 race car from the US and i'll be driving it in the Canadian 944 Challenge Series next season.Alain looked like he was having too much fun last Summer so i decided to go join him !

It's amazing how slippery the slope gets after four amazing years of DE's with the gang from RennSpoon and Rennsport ... one thing leads to another !
I hold Chris R responsible for all this ... see what you started

Yes,yes Charles ,the mandatory pictures will follow shortly after i get the car cleaned up a bit as it's not a beauty queen for all means but a dedicated race car that's been around the block a few times ... lol
I brought it home yesterday and it will keep my 911 company in the garage while i upgrade a few items over the Winter that are not exactly to my standards.
Stay tuned and i will post all the details in the following week !

Cheers
Phil

Congratulations!

Will you continue with DE's, too?

The fun begins. And all the hassles that comes with racing. So much work for such a short moment on the track. But what a moment!!!

Once you've done it, you can't go back to lapping!

As promised, here are the first pictures as i haven't had time to take the car off the trailer yet ...
I think i got Dwane's approval this afternoon,so i should be good to continue on.

It's a little rough around the edges but i guess as far as race cars go,there are worse examples. It's got some good parts and a fresh 12K engine build with a solid base, never been crashed and a ****load of spare parts that came with it,not to mention four sets of wheels !
More detailed pics will be posted after i clean it up and get it in the garage.

Will definitely need a fresh paint job as it presently has two tones of recycling bin green

Cheers
Phil

Good stuff!! I started this past year as well, got my race license and ran in Formula Libre class with a Formula Renault 2.0..... way to much fun indeed!!!

Like others say, once you've gone down the "race" path... other than missing all the Rennsport folks it's tough to be satisfied with "just lapping".
