Default Weird Calls From "Canadian Management Services"

Three times my phone rings over the past two weeks. Some foreign sounding gal (Indian perhaps) claims my computer is sending spam and malware to their servers. Huh? I don't think so! They claim to have traced my IP address and hence my phone. When I asked then to send me an example of said malware, they hang up.

Sounds like a scam to sell me anti virus software or something. Am I the only one getting these annoying calls?

Looks like it. Funny that with only an IP, they were able to get your phone number (unless you have your IP associated with your domain name) ???

Bob - You are not alone. I had that call a couple of weeks ago. They claimed to be Windows people, but not Microsoft people?! A definite scam, but how did they get our names and phone numbers? The call sounded like it originated in a Nigerian coin laundry, from the background noise. I did a *69 on the number and Googled it - founds lots of threads about nuisance calls from the number, someplace in Michigan, beieve it or not.

Calls originate from 760 705 8888 which it turns out is a google number for making free calls. Being used by crank callers and scammers/telemarketers. Bummer is that Bell wants 9 bucks a month to block certain incoming calls.

Well, then, it must be Bell that's making the calls. Seems like they win either way!

Only because we're on the subject......
Since we've switched over from Bell to Videotron a few years back, we are harassed on a monthly basis (via phone and mail) by these blasphemous cowards.

Telemarketing is spam; pure and simple.
