Default Sporting Clays at Markham Park

Anybody into shooting skeet or sporting clays? I haven't been out to Markham Park for a while, but with the weather perfect for being outdoors, I'm thinking of going out there next weekend.

They have a very cool sporting clays trail. I miss most of the clays, and most of the guys out there are 200 years old shooting with $20,000 Krieghoffs and driving thier own custom golf carts, but I enjoy it nonetheless. They call it "golf with a shotgun" so you Know it has to be fun.

I have an old Marlin O/U trap gun. Haven't been shooting in years.

I'm in (but not sure about next weekend...possible!).

Oh, and no "Cheney's"...

Cool. I've got a Remington 11/87 Sporting Clays Edition - it looks good, but needs a better guy at the trigger than me.

Yes, I do much better by throwing the gun at the clays than shooting at them.

Cool. How's next weekend looking (Feb 16-17 or the following since the Coconut Grove Art Festival, the Miami Boat Show and godknowswhatelse takes place that weekend)?

Playing with shotguns. Too cool. I may have a Thompson Contender pistol with a 45/410 barrel by then as a backup.... It's easier to throw at the clays.

As of now, Feb 16/17 looks good. I'm working this weekend and the last weekend in Feb.

There are a bunch of these that cross my driveway daily...I'll practice on them first:

Here's a conflict worth considering:

RM Auctions' Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale event Friday through Sunday, February 15-17, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center,

I'll be at the auction on the 15th. Sandy will be standing by with a stun gun in case I look like I'm about to bid on the AmphiCar or the Batmobile.

"Don't tase me, babe!!"

2/23-24 is looking favorable.

AutoX is a negatory - I'm not eager to burn off the tires I just bought.

There is a place in Dade County that lets you go basically nuts shooting whatever (inanimate) object floats your boat. I've not been there - I'm suspecting there are way too many whackos there.
