Default Go-karts at Boomers?

It has been many moons since I last drove the go-karts at Boomers in Fort Lauderdale. Are they worthwhile anymore? I know there's an indoor kart track off Commercial Blvd and I-95, but I have the impression it's waaaay expensive.

Not really...I think you'll get more enjoyment out of bumper cars at the Youth Fair...

Any who the xtreme indoor karting pricing is as follows (right from their site):

Xtreme Pricing Information:

*All racers must obtain a race license ($8) and head sock ($2) before racing

Non-Member *Member

8 Minute Session $18.50 $16.50
12 Minute Session $24.50 $21.50
18 Minute Session $34.50 $29.50
30 Minute Session $49.50 $41.50

Occassionaly they'll have "specials/promo's"

As MJ said, Boomers suck unless you're 9 or something but go-karting itself would be a great idea.

We've actually talked before to arrange a go-kart get together at Xtreme, let's do it in near future.

$65 -- ouch. That's in line with what I'd heard, but maybe we can get a group rate. Otherwise I'll dice it up with the 9-year-olds ay Boomers.

OK, let's get our facts straight (although MJ already did it), 5 min. session is not $65.
MJ posted the prices from the website and they're correct.

Children under 16 need to do a "Race School" that costs $45, after doing so, they can drive with normal hours.

ok finn...so they told me $65.00 for my sons b/day. i went to the place. ($45.00 for school and $16.50 as member = $61.50.
those are the facts

Yes, if you're under 16 which I don't think many Porsche owners posting here are, you have to first time pay the extra $45 for the school so the total is as you say $61.50 but it's it's 3 five minute sessions on the track and then tests (which I don't actually know what they are).

For adults like us, its:

8 Minute Session $18.50 (Non-Member) $16.50 (Member)
12 Minute Session $24.50 $21.50
18 Minute Session $34.50 $29.50
30 Minute Session $49.50 $41.50

that makes sense. at the time we were going to do my sons b/day party there and the costs were high. at that point i did not enquere further so it is good to know that for adults it is not too bad..

I'll make a call to Moroso and see what can be done for a group outing.
