RSS feed
I read in the FAQ that it is possible to get an RSS feed from the forums. I tried the address listed in the FAQ but it is just a blank page and the RSS readers don't see it as a legit page. Is there more help you can provide on how to enable an RSS feed for the forums?

Yes, that's definitely a John D question....
My guess is that this software version has some additional features that we don't have activated and that maybe one of them.

Well - someone was poking around the FAQ before I finished up the code in the RSS interface (vBulletin's was a bit "different)
So - as of today - I have feeds for both RSS versions:
https://rennlist.com/forums/external.php?type=rss (Netscape Standard - all Rennlist Forums)
https://rennlist.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2 (RSS 2.0 standard - - all Rennlist Forums)
If you would like to view specific forums - you can do that as well by selecting the Forum ID as part of that URL - such as:
https://rennlist.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2&f=60 for the only the 996 Forum
Or - if you'd like to view several forums:
996, 993 and GT2/3 - use the multiple Forums command (forumids) and seperate the Forum IDs with commas like:
https://rennlist.com/forums/external...mids=60,58,103
Best to you,
John D.

I've been trying to figure out how to find the RSS feeds link so I can read the forums from google reader. Have the above links moved? When I use those links I get just a blank page.
Thanks for your help.

OK guys (and Jenn )....
Let's give it a try... I'll enable the RSS feeds in the next few hours - BUT...!
First - I need some feedback on whether they are working or not;
Second - when I turn them on I need to watch both the server and circuits loads;
Third - PLEASE post back if you are using them, what viewer you are using (Google, Mobile Device; etc...)
Thanks!
John

I will add https://rennlist.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2&f=59 (964 forum) to google reader as soon as you activate them!
Thanks so much for enabling RSS. I'm happy to help with testing.

Wonderful! I could not use the syntax that I proposed above, but I could use this:
https://rennlist.com/forums/external...s2&forumids=59
for some reason if I used the f=59 parameter (or f=xx) I always got the full rennlist feed. The forumids=xx works just great!
Thanks so much!

Thanks JD! Excellent feedback! Based on your note - I need to update the text in the FAQ section, which I'll do in a bit...!
Also - as you work with the feed for a bit - please post back how it continues to work for you, OK???
My thanks again!

Hey JD..!
The refreshes are within 8 minutes - HOWEVER - if your ISP Proxy or Web browser is set for longer - it will probably take longer..?? Let me try to push the new RSS data faster....

This is a little tricky to diagnose, but I think it really is not refreshing on the server side. I checked it multiple times using different routes (and different proxies). I did that by tunneling from my current network into my work network and hitting the RSS feed directly from both places using different browsers. Both came back the same. I think they are showing what was there an hour or two ago when you enabled RSS. I'm also not getting refreshes using Google reader which should be using a third path to the server.
Thanks for your hard work.
