OK, I know how to embed a "regular" web link - type http://etc and it's done. But I've also seen some posts where the poster just used the word "here" (which is in blue) just like the "regular" link and that automatically takes you to the like. How do I do that?

 

Hi there bb993tt, there are two different ways to accomplish this, manually and automatically. I'll show you each of them.

If you have a word which you would like to link somewhere, highlight the word, and click the URL button above the post box (it looks like a globe with a chain link at the bottom). Paste in the URL you'd like the term to link to, and click OK. The appropriate code will be inserted surrounding your selected term. When you submit your post, the word(s) will link where you wanted it to.

The manual way to do this, is utilizing the [url ] & [/url ] tags (no spaces) To make a word into a link this way, you start with your tag looking like this [ url=your link goes here] your text goes in here [/url ] (again, without the spaces)

Giving you something that looks like this.

Oh, yes. If it was bought with my money it has an Apple logo on it. Similar, but slightly different question: if I want to the link to be an RL post, how do I find the URL?

 

hey bb993tt, if you want to link to a specific Rennlist post, you can right click the post number, which is located at the top right corner of each post in a thread. Copy that link, and you have the URL for any specific post you which to link to.
