sounds like a scammer....no details about what sport or even how much money he has to spend...very sad and weak attempt at scamming

This is the epitome of Generation Snowflake. Who raises kids to think this way?

give the kid a medal for participating
that is the kind of system that produces this kind of thinking.

I guess if you don't ask, you don't get. Pretty bold asking strangers for a hand out to buy a Porsche. Maybe he should work hard like others, make some money, then buy a whole mess of Porsches!

Oh come on, let's help the lad...and give him a good start. I would not suggest he goes for a mere 911 or Cayman...they are just too common and uninspiring.

Therefore let's dig deep.. I think a 918 (Weissach edition) would give him a really ,really good feeling.

I have a few French Francs and some Deutschmarks to start the roundup.

I have an '84 928 that sat in a field, sunk in mud up to the bottom of the doors for 15 years. If he can afford to get it running (even I can't) he can have it for $1K.
