Default IMS Solution installers near Kingston, ON

So I have a 1999 996 C2 with 72 000 km and I cannot take it any more. I am going to start saving up for the IMS solution install. Anyone know of any good installers near Kingston, Ontario?
What are peoples thoughts on the solution vs. the retrofit?

Thank you

What do you mean can't take it any more ? I thought the 99 had the double row bearings and Likely hood of failing is very low, is this not true ?

Why do you believe you need to address this? There are signs and symptoms before a failure. How's the oil test? Is the filter showing signs of metal? Do you have your car serviced at an approved shop?
Just a few questions...

Oil test and filter look good. Yes, I have it professionally serviced. I few flecks of metal on the filter but not really that much. Maybe 20 tiny pieces smaller than glitter. Just installed a magnetic drain plug this spring.
Just getting stressed out by all the talk of IMS issues, so I thought I should start saving up to get the solution done, or at least the retrofit. However, I keep reading about people who have done the update and all looked good.

Well a few flecks of metal on the filter might concern me, if I saw that I would be going for the oil analysis. I have never seen fleck of metal when opening my filter.

the oil analysis will also catch what you cant see with the naked eye.

My early '99 had a perfect dual row bearing when it was replaced (it turns out, needlessly).

If it concerns you, buy the parts and an IMS bearing tool kit and have Brian Madeley do it, then sell the tool kit on either Rennlist or the PCA UCR site.

Yes dual row is less failure prone, but it is real. But then there are several different failure modes in this engine not just IMS. I have one apart on my bench.
PM sent.

I have a Turbo S and live in/near Kingston. Where are you getting your tires done so that the wheels aren't destroyed (like... Kal Tire for example, scratched my forged wheels this spring)

I had some tires put on by Rez Boyz in Deseronto. No scratches, they can do it while u watch. The price of tires was really good as well. Otherwise I have never gotten tires done anywhere else. My local guy may be able to do them, and he is very good with my Subaru and Hyundai. Never any issues with either car. He may not be able to do your wheels depending on the size. PM me if you want.

My 99 did not have a dual row. The single row was perfect when removed. If your 99 had an engine replaced at some point in its life (like mine) you will have very little idea which bearing is in there. Check the engine serial to see if it is a reman.
