At least it sounds like the prices are coming down. Earlier in the year all the ones on AutoTrader were a minimum of $260k, though they may not have actually sold for that.

The thing is, buyers have the choice of purchasing an item for a price a seller is willing to sell at, or not. There’s nothing more fishy about used cars being sold for more than msrp if the market can support it than new cars gettting sold at deep discounts to Msrp to move them off the lot. Msrp is an arbitrary price set by the manufacturer - maybe it’s too high or maybe it’s too low but it’s not a law.
If you don’t want sellers asking more than msrp for cars which demand will support higher prices are you willing to pay msrp for cars for which there’s little demand? I’ll sell you that brown 996 over there with the red interior for msrp- you can’t have it both ways.
Owners bear the pricing risk both ways. When they buy the car - it could be a dud in which case they’ll take a bath. That’s fair too.

Which is good or I would have made a mistake for a car that is used mainly on the street.
I wanted a "new" Normally Aspirated 911 which other than the GT series is no longer available.
But just as I lucked into Al's 993, I lucked into an extremely well optioned 2015 Carrera 4 GTS with a 7-speed manual and a mere 157 kilometers on it. Connected the Durametric; 6.77 hours of engine operating time and zero over-revs in all 6 ranges. Basically a new car. Engine break-in properly done before I had to store it, and having driven it, I made the right choice.

Sweet car Chris!! .....once the spoiler lip is attached and the delivery spring spacers are removed it will really POP!!!
Maybe wait until your car is prepped before authorizing any trim changes. I think your optional Anthracite trim pleasantly, albeit subtly, breaks the monochrome dash and door colour scheme of the full leather interior.
The standard anodized black trim does not..

NS2 Media helped me with some renderings and consultations with Nathan at Porsche Exclusive, and of course Mike McNeely at Mark Motors, made this tied for the best vehicle purchase (along with a recent F150 company purchase from Jim Hoddinott at Kanata Ford) I've ever had. Really pleasant.
