I'm late to the party but here nonetheless. I'll TL;DR my own story.

Deposit placed Feb 2016 with dealer I purchased 997.2 C4S from. I was naive until spring 2017. Canvassed all dealers in Canada. Picked up GT4 this last April, great car, needs power to give oh sh*t feeling. No allocation up until last week. Different dealer. Deal done, super excited and still surreal. Car goes into body shop in October and should be delivered sometime in December, here's hoping for a hot December. Still deciding on spec. Can't get PTS so will likely go Miami Blue or Guards Red. ED not available this close to build.

Looking at lining up the mods below, read some threads so far. If you have opinions, links or whatever to share, please do.

a) Exhaust - likely centre bypass though side deletes make the most sense from a functional point of view. Dundon or BBi/GRP I think.
b) Cage - Haven't dug too much into this, players are Cantrell, BBi, GMG. Seems fairly similar across all.
c) Harness - No clue really beyond Schroth and Race Tech. Begs the question, once you go harness should you go Hans?
d) Stickers - Did a couple things on my GT4, liked the look. Want something on the GT3, subtle to start.

 

No idea on the mods but just want to say congrats on the allocation and glad to see your patience paid off

As to your mods, I haven't got the cage in yet, but will likely go with Cantrell. I just like having the belt anchor that close to me. With cage and I assume LWBs, definitely go Hans.

congrats! I told you it was likely you were getting one if they held on to your money this long. let's see the rest of your build!

For the cage - I did GMG, harnesses Schroth. keep in mind that the red Schroth harnesses aren't guards red. And yeah, if you're gonna run a cage and harness, at that point a hans or other neck restraint is no brainer.

 

Congrats! Where in the world did you get GT3 allocations? I've been asking lots of Canadian dealers but they say possibility is 0.

 

Congrats, good luck. On your mods: 1) suggest you wait to hear the stock sound before bolting on an aftermarket exhaust, it sounds great as it, 2) i went BBi after some research on this board and seeing some different installs. BBI fits the internal contour of the roofline and can be installed without cutting any body parts (only carpet), but otherwise you have it right, they all look pretty similar, I think GMG may use a different type of steel..., 3) I'm going with Schroth harness, which is what comes from the factory if you get the clubsport package, and yes, if you have a harness, you need a head and neck device (schroth, HANS, etc.), and 4) so far, i put on a wing decal (i have pictures on my "worth the wait" thread which is on page 1 or 2 of this forum.

What lead you to decide on Cantrell? Anchor position?
