go to pelican parts sometime, and search '16mm xzn' - it's the special 12-point bit required to open the transmission fill port on audi/vw transmissions. and on early boxsters, as they used an audi 5-speed transmission.
aftermarket part sold by pelican to audi/vw guys? $10
same aftermarket part sold by pelican to porsche guys? $41.95

A few months ago I found a 7" dia. nothing-special lawn mower wheel on Amazon.ca for $3.21 IIRC to replace the one I accidently busted last fall, decided to order 4 since the original wheels were 6-3/4" dia.
Put the order through, only to have the vendor decline the order because they "only allow maximum qty of 3", the vendor simultaneously raised the price to $15 each while now allowing quantity greater than 4 to be ordered.
The price then fluctuated up and down many times over the next few weeks, I didn't need the wheels right away so I didn't bother ordering, however kept an eye on it for amusement as the price went as low close to the original price then jump to even higher price, eventually stopped at about $21.50 now, that is SIX times more than the original price when I first saw it advertised.
Not a chance was I going to spend $80+ for an 30+ years old electric Black & Decker lawnmower, even if shipping was free.
Eventually I bought six of the 7" wheels brand new locally from Kijiji for $20 so I have two for spares.

Slightly OT...
Can anyone confirm whether it's illegal to install clear (LED or bulb) side markers on our cars?
My new car will arrive soon and my dealer is telling me they won't even order, let alone install clear LED side markers because of legal issues.

My dealer in Calgary did it with no trouble. When the lights are on they are a bright orange, so my take is that complies with the law. Very easy to install, order a set in from Sun-coast and make it a DIY project.

Just to get back to the original question - I too would like to understand what the heck is up with Amazon's dealer section pricing. Here is an excellent (pun intended!) example of this stupidity? *Why* would a vendor price a book at this level when they can SEE they are widely out of the market pricing and will never sell this item at this price unless someone is on drugs?
