So what happened?
Did he get two off to the left, and that's what caused him to lose traction and control?
He had very quick hands on the wheel and I agree there was a lot of skill involved.
Also - he never stops and just drives right back on after the gravel trap. I would presume he dragged (and probably dropped along the way) some gravel. I presume it's too dangerous to check your car, so unless there's a major problem - you keep going? That gravel can't be good for the cars coming up from the rear - but maybe that's one of the hazards you have to expect when you drive that track?

just before the spin, he lifts (as can be seen from the telemetry), not sure if he was upshifting and just came of too quick or what but it happens right after he lifts and we all know that reduces traction for his rear tires, and they slide out.

Thanks. I wasn't sure what to make of the data - as you point out - it's hard to know exactly what was happening.

I think Turbodan is correct, he made a steering correction then the car begins to slide. What an incredible heads up save.....

This looks like Schwedenkreuz, one of the most dangerous corners. There is a slight bump on the left that unweights cars and often causes rollovers.....
It looks quite benign but bites a huge amount of people.
