Gundo Hack on 997

Gundo Hack
I have to laugh as I cycle down this road many times, spring summer fall, and never see a vehicle. But this day, that orange truck went up and down 3 times while I did this and probably another 5 cars in addition to the ones in the video....go figure

What timing as I'm looking into this as well. Fister has a youtube video of their in comparison to stock. Anyone know what size diameter is their bypass? Based on their photo looks like 1.5 or 1.75? I read most go with a 2" bypass

This is the first I read the Fister is loud but I'm not questioning that. It's easy to see why the PSE would be quieter(as in exhaust is still routed into the muffler). Based on feedback though, the Fister method has been positive for all size bypasses.

"retard", I haven't heard that word in a while.
My guess is it's quieter than Fister since it's using the PSE port. We will see shortly and I'll try and get a sound clip. Lots of rain here so it will be a while.

Not suprised one bit. When I pulled my mufflers and replaced then with bypass pipe the drop in mid range torque was instantly noticable. Since this hack is almost as free flowing a the bypass pipes, the negative resultz should be about the same.

Super Gundo.. Gunster...bypass with PSE basically. To answer OP's orginal question, increase in db when on it and no drone. Quite happy with it after my short test drive.
Video clip below;

Loss in torque not evident. Perhaps a longer drive? At the same time, this is just like the PSE exhaust but with the bypass. In my case, it's a small 1.5" bypass. In thread below, this was discussed and they showed a dyno run to show an example of how back pressure impacts power curve

Mike McCarthy Exhaust! Mike is the service manager at Pfaff Porsche and is himself a senior Porsche Technician; he builds these exhausts that are similar to the Gundo and everyone I know who has one loves them, myself included! I have his exhaust on my Cayman S and I get compliments on the sound all the time! There are video clips of it online but they don't do it justice (poor relative sound quality): https://vimeo.com/60497930 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_sQqsOqbGY
I just wanted to let you guys know I spoke with Mike McCarthy and he confirmed he does indeed still make these and can sell and install them at Pfaff Porsche. Mike is a great tech, a great manager, and a super cool guy. I get so many compliments on my exhaust and I love it!
Good piece on Mike http://www.pfaffauto.com/2015/04/08/...er-black-belt/
