good to meet you today at the GTG Jack. Only caught snippets of your conversation, but good luck with the hunt!

The 09-11 997.2 generation cars are those with the newer DFI engines which appear to be considerably more reliable than the older 3.6L (some 05, 06 and 07 cars affected):

The 12-16 991's seem rather bulletproof and I have not heard of any engine issues with these cars except for some GT3's having engine replacements.

Spend some time in the 997 section of Rennlist and you'll get a flavour as to those cars and reliability.

Me too Phil. Car shopping is just plain fun. The many ideas that one goes thru, the hunt, and the anticipation of the right one...LOL.

I am even toying with the idea of trading my ATS, buying a C4 and driving it ALL THE TIME. Life's too short - a motto many of us say, but not many action on.

I won't be around next Saturday or the one after that. Heading to Orlando (Kissimmee) for the Mecum car auction and an NCRS regional event. No, not Porsche shopping there - the cars are way too nice and the exchange these days is a non-starter...

It may still be available. I have seen it and driven it, very nice! Ask for Andrew Taylor if you want to inquire about it.

I didn't go for it because a 3 pedal Ferrari I was longing for became available.
I heard back from Pfaff Leasing - the silver car sold a couple weeks ago...oh well

I suggest finding a car from a private owner with full service history. I suggest only buying from a really good enthusiast seller and judge the seller before the car. It will show how the car was maintained and treated.
