Default Custom Jackets - gauging interest for 911/944

I have produced and sold about 50 of these jackets on the 928 board, with great success. So much so that I'm likely going to do a third run, to go into production in January.

I have gotten some requests from 911 and 944 drivers for a variant of this jacket. So I would like to gauge interest and hear opinions on which model year to use for the top down graphic. Min order for me to break even with all the set up costs will be about 20 jackets.

Pricing will be about 90 usd (120 cad) per jacket plus shipping. Keep in mind that this is not a money maker for me, done out of pure love for all p-cars.

The process is de-bossing, which produces a subtle effect. Making the jacket very wearable, even with business casual.

More info in the 928 order threads:

2: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...econd-run.html

PM me with your interest or thoughts.

Adam

I'd be in for a 911 but with a side profile shot of a 911 not top down

It may be hard to do 993, 997 and 911 versions. Each would need at least 20 orders to make it feasible. With this process they make metal stamps for the graphics, so the set up costs are kinda high.

Cam, a side profile is no issue if that's what everyone would want. Once I have a list of people who are interested we can hash out those details. The vector art I purchase and modify comes with front, side, back and top profiles of each model.

I suppose I could post this in each specific forum, but I'm kinda worried that what is a small side project could snowball into something much larger. Gonna noodle it for a bit.

Keep the PM's/posts coming and stay tuned.

Good suggestion.

The area on the front has a max dimension of 4.25" x 4.25". The rear imprint can go up to 6" wide. On the 928 jacket, both are at max size.

I think you might do okay if you get enough 944 guys as the style of car was pretty much the same through the entire run .. the issue will be getting 944 guys to pay over 100+ for a jacket

As far as the 911 goes that's gonna be a challenge , I wouldn't want a jacket with a 993 on it much as Onami for example wouldn't want a jacket with a 911 on it

I think the best approach for that would be a water cooled 997 type model as they sold oodles and oodles of those and you might have enough to do a run.

I have already had a few 944 requests from families that purchased the 928 jacket, some siblings etc. with 944's.

I agree that the 911 is a challenge since there have been so many versions. Will see where it goes.

FYI I'm heading to Colombia on Dec 9th and won't return till Jan 4th. So if this thread goes silent, I must be busy inspecting one of my labs in the jungle.

I think all of us 928 guys spend a considerable amount on our cars and swag.

Lol.

Its actually much safer now than it was in the 90's. Hopefully this second peace deal with the FARC gets voted in.

I'm sure lots of 993 guys would buy these if you posted on the 993 forum...
