Default 918 at Mark Motors

I got to see my first 918 in the flesh yesterday at Mark Motors, and my first impression was it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be.

Also saw the Metallic Blue Grey 718 S on their showroom. Really nice color in person, just too bad it was on a $100K four cylinder engine.

Don't knock that 4 banger, it will outperform its' predecessor. The turbos are more than offsetting the displacement of the previous NA engine.

I theoretically agree on the $1ooK for four cylinders?
I do understand the numbers, but I also want the pop and boom of a six or eight.
Same reason I could not drive the Tesla like golf cart.
Great car, does everything that I would want. Too quiet.

I have no doubt it will blow the doors off my 08 BS, but I was never looking for the fastest, I was looking for the package.

Would I trade for a 981 ABSOLUTELY, would I trade for a 718....just no.

No doubt, it is subjective. I traded my 13 991.1 C2S Cab for the .2 and I lost some noise but gained big time on low end torque. For me, there is no going back but again that's what works for me. For many that doesn't do it for them and you can't argue that.

The 718 S with all the sport options, is 2 seconds slower around the Ring than a GT4.

Also gained some weight with the turbo. Went and saw it at Phaff. Doesn't sound like a Porsche. When someone gets I'm my 981 its the sound that really impresses them. Its intoxicating. Im sure it will sell well. Just not to me.

I don't understand the connection but you cannot argue with the facts.

That's the same 918 that was at a prior Saturn drive in Markham.
