Thank you sir! Unfortunately can't post anymore porsche pictures from the gtg, editor said no...
Hopefully the Porsche booth at the next autoshow will be a little more exciting.....

Great weather and nice turn out Saturday. Thoughts on location compared to old...

-busy parking lot, but lots of room for our cars.
-bit of a trek to the Tims for coffee
-no shade so may be a bit roasty come summertime.

Default Tomorrow's location

Saturday April 23, 10 am: The Wild Goose Restaurant
5395 Eglinton Ave W, Mississauga, ON M9C 5K6

This is a nice restaurant with a very private lot. There is also a terrace where you can sit and have breakfast/lunch. Over the years, a number of us have gone there after the GTG to grab a bite to eat. The owner has expressed enthusiasm for having a bunch of Porsche customers show up on regular basis. Glenn is going to see how serious the owner was about opening up a little earlier for coffee.

Wild Goose is my favourite place yet. Like it better than our old haunt because there's lots of "private" space. If they could open for coffee we can bring our own cups.

Loved this location. Great sheltered parking lot. Easy to access. Only thing that could be better would be slightly earlier opening. Still definitely a winner

Agree. It's a great spot and very private.

Great gathering. Mixed a lot of generations. Only one Cayman.

I liked the spot more than last week. Less busy. Only needs a coffee run earlier or someone buying a carafe

.

Our summer location at Chapter's is closing and will most likely be demolished to make way for condos. It served us well for 10 years and allowed the GTG to grow from a handful of diehard attendees to close to 40 cars on some of the sunnier summer Saturdays. The GTG has spawned many friendships over the years, and served as a good meeting point for drives too.

As you can well imagine, finding a location that has parking, convenient access from major highways and some nearby facilities (bathrooms, coffee, shopping) is a real challenge. No location is ever perfect nor can it please everyone.

So we're going to do things a little differently and "audition" several locations over the next few weeks. This will allow us to gauge each location and hopefully make a more informed decision when we settle on the best one as a permanent location.

All of the candidate locations are within easy access of major highways and can provide a good start point for Fun Runs afterwards.

So here goes:

Saturday April 16, 10 am: SmartCenters Strip Mall
150 N Queen St, Etobicoke, ON M9C 1A8

There is a Tim Horton's there along with a few other restaurants. The parking is quite big, but until we try it out, we won't know which end will be best for us.

Saturday April 30, 10 am: Chapter's/Starbucks
3050 Vega Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5L 5X8

This is where Terry's SOLHA (Southern Ontario Long Hood Association) meets have been happening. 1 block east of the 403 / Dundas interchange on the North side . (West of Winston Churchill)
Nice patio area and plenty of excellent parking . This location is easily accessible from either the QEW, 403,
401, Dundas , as well as the 407. Let's check it out and see if we can reunite all the generations once again!

Saturday May 7, 10 am: Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre
North East corner (Where the Friday farmer's market is held, Intersection of Queensway and Hwy 427 exit)

There is a Starbuck's at Door #1 of the Mall which is a short walk from where we will be meeting. The Saks just opened, but that end of the lot stays pretty empty as it is far from the main entrances.

A few requests regarding this thread:

Winter location remains the same for November through March: Artisano's Bakery corner Titan and Islington Ave.
Thanks for keeping the group together. I attempted to contact you about the suitability of the Vega Starbucks site as being similar to our old GTG spot. Looks like you're a step ahead for the April 30th gathering. Will see you next week for my first in 2016.

I am thinking of coming out to a few meets in the coming weeks. I was just wondering if kids are allowed, or if this is an adults only type of meetup? My daughter wants to come, but I don't want to bring her if the young ones are not welcomed.

There is no restriction on kids although there are not a lot of them. People have certainly brought kids in the past. We are a very informal lot.
