The funny thing is... I bet in a couple years the 991.2 owners will be on Rennlist complaining about how their car looks the best and Porsche completely screwed things up with the 992 (or whatever they call the next model).

There's always a group of people who dislike the "new generation"... and the next generation always ends up being accepted. (With the exception of when Acura introduced the beak). I even read old threads on here with people complaining the 997.2 styling... now people spend money to get their 997.1 or even 996 to look like them.

We should rent a party bus and all head to Detroit next year... for the Detroit Autoshow... not for what NobleGT3 was thinking about...

I agree. I rather like it better. Especially the cool central-isn sport exhaust.

Just got home from CIAS2016, Thanks to pags993 for the solid ticket hook up! Here are my thoughts, way too many rednecks this year and it appears that most just got let out of the trailer part... some haven't heard of showering either. That being said I was impressed with Mercedes-Benz line up for our market, I love the new C300d! MB also had a nice clients lounge setup that was serving snacks/ drinks which was nice after battling the crowd. Over at Audi it was the same deal. I love BMW but their line up is really starting to get meh compared to MB/Audi.. Was disapointed with Porsche's setup, the MTL show had more cars and no lounge at CIAS either.. They were handing out nice posters though! Managed to snag a bunch. Lot's of people seemed interested in VW with comments mostly directed to the interiors and "I can afford this car" Alfa Guilia was stunning! However I hope they plan on revamping dealers to sell these cars.

GM charging 45K for a Malibu WTF, FCA is in desperate need of a facelift on the Charger, Challenger and 300. The new Pacifica was very nice. Not a fan of how the Ford display was setup..

Shocker car of the event for me was the Kia Forta 5 SX 1.6t 200hp with a manual gearbox for 24k.. Looked like a good package!

I really dislike the grill slats which seemed very discordant on the car. Beautiful job on the tail lights which are a big improvement. Exhausts nice. Apple talk VERY nice...spent a bit of time playing with it. Smaller steering wheel is nice but the joystick in a circle thingy under the steering wheel is very discordant. Sorry to see steering wheel buttons though.

went to the autoshow this morning, and I have to say I like rear of the 991.2. My gripes with it are pretty minor. Not a fan of the vanes on the front bumper, and imo the buttons on the PCM look cheap - they don't match the style of the other buttons on the console. Other than that, the car looks good.

The Giulia looks fantastic! That and the Ford GT were the only highlights of the show.

Went to the Autoshow on Saturday.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia... WOW!!! I am seriously considering that as a replacement to my current DD. Gorgeous! I can't remember ever seeing an interior designed with so much passion. The 4C was another car that just left me speechless. These Alfa guy must really understand car guys...

The only other car that impressed me was the Maserati Gran Turismo MC.

I totally understand that my preference is based on passion and heart. I was not comparison shopping and thinking practicality. But the Alfa and the Maserati did more for me than the Singer Minnesota, The Pagani Hua%#%$, ot the McLaren P1.

Finally, why do these "tuners" need to take nice cars, like a Lambo, Ferrari, or Audi R8 and make them look ugly with stupid tint, stickers, and wheels. Nobody who works hard for legal money and pays taxes would ever do that to a car...

Oh well...

+1 on the Alfa Giulia, if they prove to be a quality machine they will sell very well IMO

Porsche display was pretty good for CIAS, IIRC not that long ago they didn't even show up, Pfaff would bring a car or two.

Opposite opinion of BMW vs MB/Audi, not a fan of new Benz styling at all, particularly C-pillar and back...I think BMW is getting back on stride...really like the new 7.....regardless of brand choice, I'm sure they will all be ownership nightmares out of warranty

+1 on sticker-bombed McLaren's and such...

The Alfas, Ford GT, Singer (I hadn't seen one in the flesh yet) were the main memorable ones for me. The MB area was great - pricing on their entry level cars is great - got my dad's interest in likely trading in his C300 for a CLA...
I like the new 911 - doesn't draw me in the same way either of Alfa's did though!

Agreed on the Giulia, what a beauty. I thought the most impressive car overall though was the McLaren F1 GTR. Not a road car of course but that thing has to be worth insane money... one of 28 GTRs and raced at LeMans in 1996. Crazy awesome to see a piece of history in the flesh.
