Quick Jack

Quick Jack
Hello, getting ready to purchase a Quick Jack BL-5000 SXL. I have a 2011 Boxster S and putting the car on candles is a major PITA + i'm always concerned that the car could slip off the candle during a 4 corner jacking process.
I'm looking for last minute wisdom. Anyone have positive or negative experience with the Quick Jack product?
Thank you
Marc

Hi Marc, I have a BL-3500that I bought through a group buy for $925 when they first came out. I've never actually used it on my 944 as it's in my garage in SC and the 944 is in the GTA. I purchased the BL-3500 too quickly inorder to get the deal, I wish the BL-5000 existed when I bought the BL-3500 as it is longer and fit fit most cars better.
The product is fantastic, as it is both jack/jackstands in one package and is very secure, lifts the vehicle quickly and can be transported to the track, I lent mine to a friend for a BMW event at Roebling Road, again the BL-3500 was too short but they still used it. The key on European cars is to make sure to know where the jack points are located and the distance to place the lifting blocks, once you have that figured out you can see if it will work for your Boxster.
The BL-3500 does not fit my Golf as it is a bit too short, so I made a modification with magnets to make sure that the lifting blocks get placed correctly each time. To be honest it is not ideal for the 944 lift points so i would have to address that as well.
Good Luck

In the ideal world, the ceiling height of the garage would accommodate me installing a full blown two post lift. It did not (short a foot and a half). I did not want to go towards those mid height lift because the foot print of a bolted lift did not appeal to me (i would of convinced myself otherwise If I could of installed the full blown two post lift!).
This being said I see the Quick jack as a step up compared to balancing the car on 4 car stands

Marc, the BL5000SLX is the Quick Jack you should get not the regular BL5000. Take a look at the specs (G) Rubber lift block position - max. spread. Measure the distance from the front and rear jack points to ensure that it is within 60 inches.

Does anyone know how well these work on a slightly sloped floor? My garage slopes slightly towards the middle and without the left and right sides being attached I am not sure if that would cause a stability problem.
Thanks
Thanks

I guess the only issue I have is that you have to go under from the front or rear of the car, there is no access from the sides unless someone is handing you tools.
You should make sure not to leave tools or nick nacks in the quick jack frame when lowering... which is so easy to do.

Good day
We have the QuickJack's available in Canada at www.babco.ca and www.quickjacks.ca. We also have all the BendPak lifts for those that want a 2 post or 4 post. If your floor has just a slight slope it should be fine.
Thanks for your time

Pelican Parts now carrying the Quick Jack, prices are in US$ tho, to their credit they are the only ones to show the complete line with all the accessories that you can get and make mention of the distances between the front and rear support points without going through the specs. They also have a video with a 911, fist time that I'm aware of.

The price in US$ is palatable but after exchange conversion, one has to ask if its worth getting instead of a two or four poster.

All Ranger QuickJacks in the USA are shipped from BendPak/Ranger in California. They will not ship across borders that's why Pelican says only available in For sale only in the USA, lower 48 states. I don't know of a dealer in the USA that stock the lifts. In Canada we (babco) stock the Quick Jacks and all BendPak/Ranger products along with a supply of parts if ever needed.
You may notice that pricing is pretty much the same and we us the USA pricing in Canada.
My good friends at www.usliftco.com sell them in the US too. The only units available right now are the BL5000SLX and a few original BL3500, less than 30.
To answer ChaoticBliss question regarding slope the answer is below.
