Quick Jack
#16
Hi Vin
I did purchase the quick jack BL5000SLX.
It works great, no issue in having the rubber met up with my Boxster S 2011 jack points.
The Car on the lift sits very well, it is very stable.
Hope this will help you taking you decision

The 5000SLX units have a frame length of 72.5". For the MINI, the 3500 unit might be the best as the overall frame length is 62". I'd highly suggest, before pulling the trigger, measuring your jacking points from front to rear as well as your wheel base front/rear on the MINI to make sure the 5000 unit will work for both your P car and MINI. We can also test our 5000 unit on our MINI, to confirm if you're unsure. If you have specific questions about the QuickJack please don't hesitate to let me know.

Ah, yes the Countryman. Good. Just want to make sure you double check all of this before ordering so you know it'll work on both your vehicles. Looks like you've done your homework. If you have any other questions about QuickJack just let me know.

What model makes a difference?
If you are removing the engine from a 944 you will need to use lifting blocks to get at least 21~22 inches with a Quick Jack.
I watched Christien with the help of Jim remove his engine several years ago from his '72 911 and Jim made up some 30+ inch jack stands and used a 36 inch floor jack, for that model IMO the Quick Jack would not be sufficient.

EDIT: The Iceman removed the engine from his car, you could ask him his opinion.

I have one too that I bought without seeing it. I find it too short, how are you lifting your P-car? I was looking at selling and getting a BL5000SLX but if you can make it work I'm all ears.
