Mr. Clarkson's quote is best for this: "If you say that car in a showroom, you would be most likely to leave a deposit on it!"

Cayman with 580hp like the Turbo S in a sub 3000 lb car. 6 speed manual and optional pdk, no rear wheel steer, lug nuts, GT4 brakes, gt4 like suspension and RS aero.

I'm sure Porsche could whip that up and price it at only $250,000 for the pleasure.

Yup... and they keep getting better and better at getting rid of any hints of lag. The only thing they need to work on is getting sound out of them for the driver to enjoy. But performance-wise I can't see anything against the turbo engine.

Huh? The 911 Turbo has always had... err... a turbo engine. If you want a NA engine they will be available in the GT and R models.

The 9A1 engine (derived from the street GT3 RS 4.0) debuted in the GT3 R race car at Daytona this past weekend.

It's no fun really anymore as anyone can do this with pdk and launch control. No delta from driver input. What's interesting/who cares about that?

I'm going to be that guy...they should have made the S 600-hp instead of a lame increase.

While I completely agree, 2.9s + lifetime clutch + four seats = Amazing package.

The 991, particularly the TT, is no longer a sports car. Its now a GT car.
