I want to be ready with the RS for the 2016 Season. The Car arrived with Dunlops which I'll start with and I had Brad at Porsche of London order me two sets of Michelins which just arrived. Since they are unique sizes for the RS, I didn't want to take the chance of any backorders.

The Honda S2000 CR is almost ready as well. In fact both CRs are about completed. These are Fun as well.

You don't need big horespower to enjoy Tracking at Grand Bend Raceway.

SCCA – Sports Car Club of America – has placed an ad in the May 2016 Grassroots Motorsports Magazine promoting their TRACKNIGHT in America. I like the line “How do you Spend your Weeknights?”.

Here is their Press Release:

Plan to slip out of the office early someday soon: The SCCA’s Tracknight in America Driven by Tire Rack returns in 2016 , giving enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy some track time on weekday evenings. The program will visit more than 20 Tracks this year.

“The price in 2016 will again never be greater than $150 per event, and no previous on-track experience or SCCA Membership is required to join in the fun”, explains Heyward Wagner, SCCA’s director of experiential programs. “the only things required are that participants be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and have access to a helmet and a street car in good working condition”.

The goals are to make track events more welcoming for beginners and a bit more accessible for those who weekends are already booked. Each participant gets three 20 minute sessions. Those in the novice group get extra trackside instruction, while intermediate and advanced drivers can self-tech, meaning they get on track with minimal waiting. More perks. There’s no charge to spectate, and anyone in attendance can enjoy the free, leisurely parade laps.

We are so fortunate to have Grand Bend Raceway. Basically their Thursday Night Track Events sound like a SCCA Tracknight Event, only cheaper.

Gutted that I'm not going to be able to make this. Firm event that weekend. I will definitely be at a Thursday night before then, though...once they get the signup enabled for 2016.

I was looking forward to my first Porsche track day as well, but now have a conflict in my schedule. So, I'll be going to a few lapping days and hopefully the 2nd Porsche track day. I think I saw it's in August.

UPDATE:
#1/ Sunday June 5th Track Day added. Starts at 9 AM.
#2/ I was at Porsche of London tonight and was told their Friday June 3rd Porsche Day is SOLD OUT with 40 Cars Pre-registered with 6 on the waiting list! Probably a good idea to Pre-register because it appears Grand Bend Raceway will be very popular in 2016.

I have pre-registered for the first 4 Regular Dates as well as Porsche of London's June 3rd Event.

Should be a great year at The Bend.

I just noticed that Grand Bend Raceway may have a Car Track Day on Saturday April 30th, depending on weather. I may try to be ready with something.

Watch for a 07 Black Cayman S to be a regular in 2016.
