I will admit all of my wife's premium car leases, last one was a C350 4matic get nothing but plain old 87 only and we have had zero issues with the last 3 leases. At the end of the 3 years back to Corp they go

And that's why all her daily drivers are new leases, lol. Lack of premium gas is not the one i'd be worried about with off lease cars sold used, oil change intervals is why I would never buy a "just off lease" car. I have seen some stuff that would keep you up at night on that front!

I trust science and physics. Google ethanol. Contains less latent energy of combustion. Absorbs water. Dissolves rubber. Don't believe amateurs. Ethanol is not good stuff. You won't notice any difference in performance between shell 91 and petrocan 94. But don't believe me either. Search whats bad about ethanol and come to your own conclusions.

I started collecting my tales from the shop into a book...
A had a woman come see me a couple weeks ago with a E90 323i.. was missing a 1L of oil which is sorta normal on early N52 engines. I asked her when was the last time she actually changed the oil.. She replied "Not sure but it's once a year or two at BMW". I suggested we change it and it should be done at minimum twice a year.. She said I was just trying to make money off her and all she needed was 1L of oil.. No problem, I dumped the 1L of oil in and off she went.
I've started dealing with the local Caterpillar dealer for oil testing.. Reasonable turn around time and free test kits.

Shell 91. No ethanol
All other have 7% ethanol added
For flex engines ethanol can give a few more hp.
In terns of mileage it has worse mileage than gasoline with no ethanol

I see ethanol as the cost spoiler in fuel.
Add it in to lower the cost.
Like pure cocaine, or cut cocaine with comet.
I run pure when I can.
I also believe, if the manufacturer say "must" they also must provide it.
So they soft shoe around "recommend" and "suggest" Premium.
I can really tell the fuel I use in my snowmobile.
8oo cc 2 stroke, at 164 hp. Stock.
Freshest premium I can find. Every time.
