2003 996 C4S
Thinking of doing some mods but not sure what. Any 996 4S owners out there mod/tuned their cars? Any recommendations on potential tunes or mods like exhaust, software, suspension, etc?
Pretty much did everything to mine. Other then the exhaust and cats for sound ever thing else was a waste of money: giac chip, headers, plenum, x51 pan. There is nothing to be gained by any of the mods. The stock suspension is more usable for these roads, I went with HR lowering springs for looks but for winter and Toronto city roads I'd leave it stock.
Also did a double din bluetooth unit. That is a great interior update and really useful for phone and music. A Short shifter was one of the better mods I've done.

I think the first thing you should do is figure out what your goals are for the car. Are your intentions to make it a track car? Or a dual purpose street/track car? A street-rod? Maybe a comfortable grand tourer? Or only for looks at shows? Knowing this will help you make the right decisions or put together a smart plan.
I think above all, a set of fresh, grippy tires will transform the car and is by far the best first mod you can do.
Just a word of warning, this is addictive, and can easily spiral further and further down a slippery slope! You've been warned!

Fabspeed performance intake; new semisolid engine mounts. Seems to have slightly better sound and response/feel. I plan to add Fister mufflers. Depends upon your goals. Possibly just a 'placebo' effect.
I focused on improving the interior (carbon i/o plastic). Doesn't make it faster; just more enjoyable to look at from within.

I have considered the double Din option. It's not a track car, more a grand tourer. Have 1year old pirellis with BBS so unless I find a good deal on another set of BBS I'm good.
Any recommendations on double din's?

You could say I've done it all, well there's always more to do

No I haven't had it on a dyno
Just "butt" dyno - stock 2002 C4S when I got it and as I added the mods
Also had a run in a friends 2008 C4S as a comparison
Definitely quicker now with mods and felt wicket than the 08
I can say that for "feel" mods that were noticeable were:
Throttle body/intake
Mufflers, headers and cats
Short shift
Suspension mods
Engine mounts
My favorite mod though is getting a proper alignment
It makes the most difference
Also a proper service/tuneup to take care of all the little things
Car is a daily all weather all season driver here in Calgary
Have had it for 2.5 years so far
Put 40k km on it so far
Recently serviced clutch, RMS was good, IMS was good, decided to service them as well and used LN IMSB
car uses no oil, I change every 5000km
Knock on wood it'll stay as good as it has been to me
It's a fantastic car, fun, reliable, useable
I highly recommend mods, as a way to personalize the car, and get to know it
