Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a car from Alberta. Is there any regulation about importing/plating it in Qc ? I've heard that AB cars are a bit tricky to get plated here. I've already bought cars from Ontario in the past with no problem but it's different from AB. Anybody can help me with this ?

I have bought cars from a number of provinces and when it comes to the "out of province" inspection at least in Alberta they don't care where it came from

Thats strange, I can't see why AB cars would be any different to a car from any other locality?

I`ve just had an "Out of Province" carried out and the garage told me that BC, SK & AB won't pass things that are fine in Quebec and Ontario. In fairness I wouldn't put too much faith in their word - this was the same mob that wanted to replace my entire braking system for a mere $2500 so that speech about the higher standards may have been part of the act (I took the car to another dedicated inspection centre and it passed with flying colours - go figure)
