Default Quick Intro - My New 2003 996tt

I am a convert from an aircooled 964 to a 996tt. I had a great but pricey experience with my 964, buying and driving back from florida, chasing gremlins, upgrading and developing a pretty cool car. Sold it, I didn't appreciate what I had. Family was getting bigger and could not fit four without whining so I picked up an 06 M5. What an engine!!, but I did not have the same connection with the car. Sold it and was not going back to a summer car. My wife sent me a article that Laurence Yap wrote where - despite his 993 ownership - he was describing his love of the 964. I knew that I had to have the car I always wanted. So I took that as purchase approval and shortly after I have a 72,000 km, midnight blue tt with gt2 master & slave, fabspeed exhaust that is otherwise stock and borderline immaculate. It is a low option car with sport seats and that's about it. What a blast to drive, quick, low, solid with better overall dynamics than the 964. The biggest adjustment is how quickly 2nd gear runs out of headroom, I had become accustomed to the 8,000+ limit of the m5. I am looking forward to learning more about the limits of the car and where it can be tweaked to suit my needs. I think this is a keeper!

No not enough room, sold the 964 to a local Rennlister.

Glad to see you back in a P-car!

What do you have in store for this one?
Do the kids fit in the back?

Hi Mitch, hope the 964 is still keeping a smile on your face. its a good car as it sits but intercoolers, tune & unobtainium exhaust for now. perhaps more over the winter. I really want to get a few miles under the belt and figure out where to go. I have told the kids one at a time, back seats are for golf clubs!

Come by some time for a ride, we can swap....cars that is
