Default 2010 997.2 C

Bought a Pfaff CPO 911 Std Carrera with PDK and sports chrono last spring.

Don't get to drive it much. What's the best way to sell it?

Never tracked. Super well taken care of. Just don't have the time to drive it.

47km mileage. 19' Wheels. Balance of CPO till spring 2016.

Best way? For me that would be getting as much as I can from a Porsche dealer (as your car can be re-CPO'd). That way you don't have to deal with the public. It also means you'll get wholesale for it not retail.

Be prepared to bed over because it is really going to hurt selling your car after only having a year and buying it from a dealer.

Yup...I've made this mistake a few times. You'll probably need to cut a $10,000 cheque to make up the difference of their markup, CPO and taxes versus retail on the car.

C'est la vie...

Why does selling any car bring out those with questionable character? I will never understand why...

I am at the point in my life that I would rather stick a fork in my eye than have to sell a car publically. I always prefer to take the broomstick price the dealer offers on a trade... but I ask for a glass of Whiskey before they tell me the trade in value. The dealers still think I am joking when I make that request.

Are you buying another car? Pfaff has a few brands under their umbrella. If your not buying another car now, get a trade price now, and open a bill of sale for a 2017+ car? They should cut you a cheque, leave 500 at the dealership and leave the hst on account. Sure you'll be out the 5oo, but you will be keeping $5200 in hst- ish.
Buy another Pfaff car, audi, VW? Another off brand trade in the future???

I think that's only reasonable ;-)

Pat at Porsche Oakville was great to deal with. I traded the GT3 (pictured) a few weeks ago on a mint 997 C4S so I can use it year round.

Hmm this sounds interesting.

I'm not really out for another car. But yeah the taxes paid are a big deal.

I might wait things out a bit. See what 2017 has to offer.

I can't say I've had any luck across brands at Pfaff. Each store has it's own sales and pre-owned sales managers/P&L.

Another thing to consider of course is that your car is depreciating. If you wait a year it's worth that much less and if you're not using it...well I've always preferred to cut my losses.

Don't drive mine much these days also. Downtown traffic and quality of the roads really turn me off from enjoying the car. Considered selling it, until I look at it in the garage. I think would be very difficult to part with it. Good luck with selling yours.

Same here.
HOV lanes slowing everything down.
Repaving on the 401
PanAm chaos downtown
Hoping to drive more after the PanAm games are over.

I have sold a few cars on Kijiji / Auto Trader.
Its easy to weedout serious replies from the morons.
Unfortunately the morons makeup 95 % of the replies.
Be patient and the right buyer will come along eventually if you decide to go that route.

So I've decided to trade it in for a 2016 Cayenne.

This might be a topic for a different thread - but what's the typical discount off MSRP for a Cayenne? Any suggestions on Cayenne options - I'm looking for a bare bones car for daily winter commuting.

They're not offering me anywhere close to what I want for my car - but I'm looking around at the different Porsche dealers to see what I can get.

I hate to be a downer but I'd be surprised if there was much discount. Your best bet is finding a car in stock that you're willing to buy and negotiating that down as much as you can. Better still if you start the process and try to conclude the sale around month's end.

Porsche's sales are WAY up this year. They're selling pretty much everything they can get their hands on.

Keep in mind they provably don't have more than 8% margin...not profit.
