Scosche for iPad mini 2?
Jamie
I'm in the process of installing my system and am going the route you took by keeping the stock head unit cdr23 and using the scosche IPFMRDS as the interface to the ipad.
I know the scosche charges the iPad mini 1. But I just bought a mini 2 which comes with a 10W charger rather than the 5W of the mini 1. The mini 2 does not charge when plugged into a computer via USB. Do you have the mini 2 or even 3? I'm concerned the scosche won't charge my mini 2.
Thanks
John

[QUOTE=Turbojamie;12484111]Your likely SOL Im running an Alpine HU now that does not charge my ipad quickly enough. About every 3 weeks I have to pop it out and fully charge it.[/QUOT
Hmmm. From the pic on page 1 it looks like your setup was with the oem cdr23 head unit connected to the iPad via the scosche. Did you since switch to a different head unit? Did you ever have a mini 2 connected and powered by the scosche?

I ended up going with a full aftermarket system. Subs, amps, head unit etc...

Me too been thinking about doing it. How easy is it to pop it out for full recharge. I saw somewhere in youtube and ebay they have custom built ipad mini holder but cost ridiculous 259us. But that give you ease to pop in and out.
How much was your total cost for the project?

I have the Bose most system and would like to do this. Im not looking for a sound quality upgrade ( although it does suck lol), matter of fact i removed the rear sub. I'm looking for mostly streaming music and of course the modern tech look of the iPad mini in the dash. Id like to keep the factory radio unless it easy to swap out even with the most system....
Im currently on 8.4 on my iPad...No jailbreak as of now :-(
Is it as easy as it looks to put this all together? How does the Scosche adapter get wired in?
