+1 Gas buddy is the bomb... now it's too bad there are additives in diesel in the winter otherwise this price break would really be nice for my TDI!

You can select premium gas: Same Can Tire is 110.9 and 2.89km away in another direction is Esso premium is 108.9 (no definition of premium but I suspect they mean a minimum of 91)

I use the app when traveling as well.

I've updated the data right in front of clerks and they see what I've done and a few hours later their price is lower. They use the app now as well.

I find the 7-11 brand to be consistently the highest priced gas - Pioneer consistently the lowest.

Right now lowest price as of 8:30am appears to be 78.9 reg in Brantford with 85.4 the avg across southern Ontario.

Yes - central GTA IS being gouged. They are able to do this because people are not shopping around and the volume of cars is rewarding them lots of $. Despite the idea of volume makes things cheaper - the retailers have flipped this idea on its ear and have found volume isn't rewarding for the consumer.

So buy your gas out of town if you can or at least don't reward the highest price places.
If yo do the math, any driving around (even if it's only 2km out of the way) isn't worht it. With a $0.03 difference in price, all you are saving is $1.80 on 60L. It takes that much just to go there and back so WHERE is the saving?

Toronto gas stations also have a higher cost of real estate. Each gas station tries to maximize profit like most businesses. So if it pays to lower prices at night and raise in day they will.

Exactly. Get gas when you need it and where you are, worrying about where to go is not worth the time and effort.

You may find this of interest. Some crap here but at least it exemplifies how complex the gas market is..........and let's not forget it's 1/3 taxes.

So sit and be happy at whatever price they want to 'gift' to you. I choose to give a big ****you to the stations that are the first to raise prices and the last to lower them and I couldn't give a **** if I save $1.80 or spend a $1.80.
