Hahaha - I was seeing this really nice looking woman last summer that absolutely loved driving in my 996 cab. Dated her for a while and then broke it off as she was a bit scatter brained but great looking (she was an MD btw) and we had different objectives. She showed up in my driveway a week later with a brand new 2013 Boxter S in my favorite colour combination -- was tempting but I let it slide - if it had been a new 991 S well that's another thing!!

"scatter brained" and "MD" in the same sentence is quite disturbing.

I once brought a girl home, the next morning she sees that I have a picture of my car on my phone and asks, "why do you own a Porsche?"

She didn't last long.

My advice after many wonderful single years is never tell a date you have a Porsche. There is a good chance she will have had a girlfriend fill her in that she will never be more important.

Just tell her you meant to say you had Porsche. And the next night her friend Mercedes.

Many years ago I had my first and final lesson about how cars impress women.
I was about 20 and had bought a well used, but cherry MGB. Navy blue. Biscuit interior.Chrome wires.

Cruising in Dublin, top down, elbow out.

Yep, James bloody Bond.

I stopped at a traffic light in a tough part of town, when this tough little girl standing at the light leaned in and said:

"That's a lovely car, Mister".

"Pity about the driver".

Interesting. When I started reading it I thought she was going to use the info to pass judgment of some sort.

Sounds like she was trying to find common ground and impress you with some albeit unqualified knowledge. Probably all guilty of that to some degree, it so happens she was talking to somebody who has some depth on the topic at hand.

My wife suggested I buy the 911 I always wanted after we reno'd our home and I saved us thousands doing the plumbing, tiling, fixture install, painting and wood flooring myself. Took delivery of the 993 2 weeks before the baby was born. She's a keeper
