They have 3/4 online at homedepot $20-$40

$150 over the phone, then the story changed when they saw the house and appliances that were being installed. He never did see the 3 Porsches in the garage.

IMHO Roofers are the worst... the per unit price fluctuates on weather, work load, neighborhood, and just general guess work. I had quotes from $5,000 - $18,000 for what looked like the EXACT amount of work. I waited until one of them called back, I bet he wasn't busy, he dropped the price by 40% in less then 2 minutes when I asked him to explain the wild range. After the job was done, he flat out admitted that when they have work lined up, they track to jack up profit margin and the entire industry does it. He also admitted that profit margin is different for various neighborhoods... it's like gangs and turf wars.

The house and the appliance would be another reason to "adjust" their over-the-phone price.......

I totally agree, my parents had their singles replaced last summer, the price ranged from $2,400 to almost $6K, one of the high quote came from a referral.

Same amount of work which include removal of the two existing layers, and all 20 year shingles.

2400 would get your dog house re-shingled, in Vancouver.

My cost on a commercial grade flexible hose (blue rubber) is around $175. I don't think Home Depot has that particular hose.
